The Stafford Education Foundation is excited to invite all Stafford County Public Schools K-12 Students to audition to participate in An Evening with the Stafford Stars on May 1, 2021!
Show Date: May 1, 2021
Location: Celebration Stage at Pratt Park
Call time 6 p.m.
Show Time - 7 p.m.
End time- 8:30 p.m.
Should the current situation continue, the Showcase will be online. Performances will be videotaped and visual arts will be available for view on the Stafford Education Foundation’s website. Auditioners should consider the quality of their submissions. Should the submission be chosen the audition submission will be used for the virtual event.
Be considered to participate in the event by submitting an electronic email audition in one or more of the following categories:
1. Solo or Group Performances
Students may audition in the categories below. Students may audition in multiple categories but must submit a separate email for each audition.(for example, a student may audition for solo vocal and also be part of a group dance). Each group must assign one point of contact for the group. That point of contact will be responsible for submitting the audition email. Please note, should the event take place virtually, audition recordings may be used at the final performance.
Solo Vocal
Group Vocal - no more than 10 members
Solo Instrumental
Group instrumental - no more than 10 members
Solo Dance
Group Dance- no more than 10 members
Monologue (no more than 3 minutes)
Group Play/Skit- no more than 10 members (no more than 5 minutes)
Miscellaneous Performance - no more than 10 members (no more than 3 minutes; could include poetry, comedy, magic, mime, performance art, etc.). There may be restrictions based on the performance space.
2. Visual Art Display
Students may submit up to 3 pieces of artwork to be displayed at a pre-performance visual art gallery on May 1, 2021. Artwork will be juried by a panel of artists. Please note, should the event take place virtually, visual art submission images may be used in the final display.
3. Technical Theatre Participation
Students who work behind the scenes (costuming, props, light, sound, make-up, etc.) may be considered to participate as running crew. Students will be required to submit a brief statement of up to 150 words that shares their strengths and why they would like to be part of the team for the event. The student’s technical theatre teacher will also be asked to submit a statement of recommendation. Please note, should the event take place virtually, opportunities will be provided for Technical Theatre students to edit and compile video performances.

ATTACH YOUR SUBMISSION
All auditions must be submitted electronically no later than March 4, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. Not all submissions will be chosen. Although we value the artistry exhibited in our schools and at the auditions, we have limited time to present An Evening with the Stafford Stars.
Once your audition has been submitted, a committee member will reach out to you to confirm receipt. If selected to perform at the Gala, the piece with which you audition will be your show piece. All students will be notified if they are selected by March 15, 2021. Students that are chosen will be eligible for a $1,000 Scholarship to be awarded during the event through a separate application that will be available beginning March 15, 2021.
